Main Museums in Brussels

Modern Art Museum

The Modern Art Museum burrows underground, circling downward eight floors, revealing along the way sparkling gems of international art. The collection is strong on French and Belgian art of the past 100 years.

Fans of surrealism will be in their element as they can contemplate the works of Delvaux and Magritte that feature in all their reference books.

Musical Instruments Museum

The Musical Instruments Museum (MIM) exhibits collections famed throughout the world in a breathtaking Art Nouveau building. The terrace of its café and restaurant offers a spectacular view over the town centre and the Grand-Place. This is our personal favorite.

Horta Museum

Victor Horta, who built it for his own use, inhabited the house from 1901 to 1919. The original inside decoration can still be observed today: mosaics, stained glass windows, furniture, and wall paintings. The museum also contains a collection of furniture drawn by Victor Horta and typical of Art Nouveau at its best. It also shows old photographs, scale models, casts and plans explaining the work of the architect.
